FAIR CAMPAIGN PRACTICES ACT (FCPA)
2008 FILLINGS
The Fair Campaign Practices Act (FCPA) includes numerous provisions relating to the conduct of campaigns for public office in this state, including contribution limits, voluntary spending limits, and reporting of campaign contributions and expenditures. Accordingly, the Election Department provides access to
reporting forms as well as campaign contribution/expenditure reports filed by local candidates and committees, which requires you to have the
free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system for viewing. Additional information on FCPA and other reporting forms may be obtained through the Colorado Secretary of State
Elections Center under Campaign Finance. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Election Department.
El Paso County Candidates and Committees that have outstanding sanctions for late filings with the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s office.
Article 28 Section 10. Sanctions. (2) (a) of the Colorado Constitution gives the Clerk and Recorder the right to impose sanctions on candidates and committees. The appropriate officer shall impose a penalty of fifty dollars per day for each day that a state or other information required to be filed pursuant to section 5, section 6, or section 7 of this Article, or sections 1-45-108, 1-45-109, or 1-45-110. C.R.S., or any successor sections, is not filed by the close of business on the day due.
